Our Founder, Patsy Slayton-Bogan, from St. Louis, MO was born with a passion and purpose for the Beauty Industry. She expressed the desire to help people feel Beautiful from a very early age. She began her professional training at Sanford Brown College, completing with a Degree in Business Management. To strengthen her skills and gain licensure in the Cosmetology field, she trained at Precision Point School of Cosmetology where she acquired much more than a cosmetology career, but inspiration to be a Cosmetology Educator and Salon owner. Pure Beauty Bar Salon, was then created in 2013 after 10 years of mentorship from the owner of Precision Point.

As a new salon owner she quickly realized that there was a gap in the industry. Struggling to find licensed professionals to work in her salon, she created a new avenue to produce what was lacking. Pure Beauty Institute of Cosmetology was created in 2014.  Operating as a Cosmetology School only until the infamous year of 2020 , as we know as COVID year. Unable to teach or service clients, she grew determine to use the downtime as a strategic opportunity for growth. Her passion had always been hair, until she couldn't make her routine visits to the nail salon or spa. Again, the misfortune inspired her to learn to master these skillsets on her own. Upon reopening, she acquired licensure to teach Esthetics and Nail Technology at the Institute. Working with a wide array of products for her training programs, she realized that many of the products contained harmful chemicals. After 6 years of product research, clinical trials and holistic treatments, she began formulating to create organic beauty products, safe for the skin and chemical free for family, friends and clients at the salon and school. The Proud Collection was born in 2021 with a complete line of natural organic products for the Hair, Skin & Nails.
